Home visits

Remember we have much better facilities for seeing and examining you in the surgery premises. Please ensure that you telephone Reception before 10:30 am if you are requesting a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and the Doctor may also contact you by telephone beforehand to decide how urgently a visit is needed.

Reception staff will ask all patients who are requesting a home visit for details of the medical problem and will also take a contact telephone number in order for the Doctor to call the patient back to assess the urgency.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Please check out this document for the reasons to request a home visit.
